Springtime in hades.

Spring is in the air. Snow melts, birds sing and the prospect of starting on the exterior is not being friendly to me. I have been very slowly working on the interior since New Years but with warm months ahead it was time for another big push to get some projects done.

The kitchen has been slowly evolving over the last few months. I brought in an apartment sized fridge and stove so I could actually feed myself and the original plan for a boring-regular-standard kitchen faucet went out the window for a badass dish faucet from Costco. Ever so slowly I am making more of the counter and trim for the kitchen but as it is now I am good for space and finishing the shelving can be done as it gets done.

Old and boring
Newest piece of counter. Much bacon will be prepped here.

I have aeoronautical cable all over the place here as you will see in the later pictures. I built this pot rack for $7 with 1/2'' electrical conduit, eye hooks, S hooks for bungee straps, a 1/2'' turn-buckle and 6' of 1/8'' cable.
Remember that random bamboo looking shelf that matched my bathroom flooring? I finally found a use for it, atop my hood fan.

Furnace box is looking better.

1/16'' checker plate to finish off the floor under my kitchen sink.

My floating shelves were a pain in the ass to make but they look good in their glorious neon green. I had to brace the island with 1/8'' cable to get rid of some wobble.
Full view of the kitchen as it stands today.

Check the awesome faucet.

Curtains... Fuck yeah!

Mal, Kaylee, Inara, Wash, Jayne, River, Book, Simon and of course Hands of Blue... My Little Damn Heroes curtains. I bought the fabric at Spoonflower.com.

This is the beginnings of my bedroom lair, lots of blue, more cable.

For the next little bit I will be tinkering with the furnace box, finishing the lower shelves in the kitchen and other putzing in the bedroom but all in all I'm getting really close.
